We had an amazing two weeks road trip across Spain and Portugal, exploring some of the most beautiful and historic places in both countries. We started in Plasencia, a charming medieval town in the province of Cáceres, where we visited the impressive cathedral and the old city walls. Then we drove to Penha Garcia, a picturesque village perched on a rocky hilltop in the Idanha-a-Nova municipality, where we enjoyed the stunning views of the valley and the fossil trails. Next, we stopped at Proença-a-Velha, a quaint hamlet in the Castelo Branco district. After that, I headed to Praia da Foz do Arelho, a lovely beach resort on the Atlantic coast, where we relaxed on the golden sand and swam in the clear water. Then we made my way to Serra da Estrela Nature Park, the largest protected area in Portugal and home to the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal, where we hiked along some of the scenic trails and admired the diverse flora and fauna. Next, we visited Guarda, the highest city in Portugal and a historic center of culture and commerce, where we explored the majestic cathedral and the ancient castle. Finally, we ended our road trip in Madrid, the capital and largest city of Spain, where weimmersed myself in the vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere, visiting some of the famous landmarks such as the Royal Palace and the Plaza Mayor.
